JPost Apologizes for NIF Op-ed
NIF's taqqiya failed, JPost hit undo
The Jerusalem Post did a full-blown oopsie and published a propaganda piece by the New Israel Fund’s PR chief about how they totally do not support BDS. It was the usual NIF routine: a lot of polished English, a lot of moral preening, and absolutely no connection to reality. The article was stuffed with the same lies they always tell. The ones Shai Robkin repeats every time someone catches NIF wiring money to groups that run boycotts and lawfare against Israel.
Then something beautiful happened: Torossian’s lawyers reached out, and JPost folded like wet cardboard. They pulled the entire piece from their archives and issued a written apology saying the NIF op-ed was “factually inaccurate and slanderous.” Not my language, theirs. They removed it because it could not survive contact with a lawyer.
The funniest part is that even after the apology, Torossian stood by the central point that caused the meltdown: The New Israel Fund still backs groups that promote boycotts of Israeli Jews. This is the part Shai Robkin never wants to talk about. His whole defense is linguistic gymnastics. NIF does not “support BDS,” they only fund the organizations that do. It is like saying you do not support arson, you just finance the guy buying the gasoline.
So let us call this what it is: NIF tried to sanitize its record, failed, got caught, and forced the Jerusalem Post into a public correction. Their donors can recite talking points all day, but the receipts do not lie. If you bankroll the boycott ecosystem, you are part of the boycott ecosystem. And no amount of PR spin from Shai or his evil buddies is ever going to change basic arithmetic.
